My first Alien

Soldier Boy

I had a sketch session with my good friend whom I haven't seen in a long time. It brought back some good memories of us drawing back in the day while working for a telemarketing company. In many ways, he is my little brother who has grown up to be a very talented artist. I use to share and teach him techniques, but ironically years later, he has taught me. Anyway, here is a drawing of an armored soldier- first sketched on paper with pencil and marker followed by Photoshop rendering.

Bentley's Parents House

Here is a drawing of a house I designed for an up and coming comic book project, The Phoenix Cycle, that my friend and I are working on. Overall, I am pretty satisfied with how it turned out. I have always wanted to work on environments and found it challenging. So, along with drawing human figures and objects, I am also working on drawing environmental scenes. Going back to my roots

This month I am focusing on going back to my roots. When I was in junior high and high school, I collected comic books and graphic novels which passionately inspired me. I challenged other artists in my class and friends in competitions to claim the title of best artist and most creative. This gave me desire and thrill. Since I was not physically talented or was into sports art was my sport and an outlet to develop relationships. The pen and paper was my baseball bat and bases. So going back to my roots means tying all of what I learned from college and work and applying it to where I first began. Anyway, here is a drawing I did for a co-worker who's favorite character was Marvel's super hero Jean Grey "the Phoenix." The twist behind this piece is if you notice, her hair is not hair but fire. This piece is my version of what the Phoenix would be like with her powers manifested on a higher level.

The media used was first done on paper and pen and than rendered in Photoshop CS5. Stay tuned for more new work on this subject matter.

Block Car sketch

This month is National Car Care Aware month. In honor of NCCA I have posted a drawing of a car. There are many cars out there that symbolize the box shape design such as the Scion XB, Honda Element and Nissian Cube. As a result, I drew a box on wheels in celebration to all the boxed cars. This rendering was sketched back in 2008. I am no means a car designer, but it was fun trying to come up with a car straight from my visions. I'll probably post similar or different variations of box shaped designs in the future. Thanks for viewing my blog.

Camaro

I have always loved the new sleek design of the Camaro. Especially when I first saw Bubble Bee become the new concept car in transformers 1. While coming into work, I would see the Camaro parked outside of my building. So here is an illustration of the Camaro with my own twist on it. While deciding on the color of the car I wanted to see what it would be like in a military green and matte finish. I really enjoyed drawing this and I hope you like it.
